Alicia & Ron

This couple created a day for them to simply be themselves with their loved ones.
The couple:
Alicia and Ron were preparing for the customary week in Sea Isle City, NJ with Alicia’s family for the summer, meanwhile, Ron and been doing some preparing of his own. He had found the perfect woman, the prefect ring for his perfect woman, received permission from her parents and even come up with a unique and heartfelt proposal. Ron prepared a book with pictures and captions detailing their relationship to this point;  their first date, their vacations together, on the last page was a picture of him on one knee with an engagement ring. When Alicia reached this page, she looked up to find Ron in the same outfit and in the same position. She immediately said yes!
 
The planning:
Not wanting to do what was expected of them, but instead wanting to stay true to themselves as a couple, Alicia and Ron chose to host their ceremony and reception at Historic Waynesborough, the former home of General Anthony Wayne, in Paoli, PA. With an outdoor ceremony and the reception under the cathedral tent, the couple was able to achieve the elegance and ease they had hoped for.
 
 

They worked with their caterer,  Jeffrey Miller Catering, to design the perfect menu for their perfect day. They decided on several stations and butlered hors d’oerves for cocktail hour, a choice of entrée for their seated dinner and a host of treats to follow. In addition to their wedding cake, a chocolate chip pound cake with raspberry filling, the couple also treated their guests to a Caramel Apple Fountain!
 
 
The couple hired a string quartet to provide music during the ceremony and cocktail hour, truly enhancing the relaxed and elegant feeling of the day. DJ Steve Croce of Silver Sound provided the soundtrack for the reception, much to the delight of the couple and all of their guests.
 
Alicia and Ron entrusted the documentation of their wedding day to Chris Hensel of Chris Hensel Wedding Photojournalism and Envisioned Video. These two vendors expertly documented the wedding day from start to finish.
 
 
The wedding:
This wedding was a yearlong collaboration of the bride and grooms family and friends. An uncle collected pickle jars, cousins created and named the signature drink, aunts, cousins and neighbors made the favors. The groom’s mother wrote a poem which was included in the ceremony programs. The bride’s mother was the quintessential wedding planner. Not wanting to miss a moment of their celebration with family and friends, the couple did many of their photographs with Chris Hensel before the ceremony.
 
 
 

To properly convey their feelings for one another, and the significant of this event, the couple wrote their own vows, keeping them secret until the wedding. Alicia recalls, “Through the tears, it was hard to get through my own vows, but a feeling of love that I will never forget.”
 
Continuing to make sure that this wedding represented all that was important to this couple, Alicia, a women’s health nurse, purchased her wedding gown from Brides Against Cancer. The proceeds from this organization are used to bring a moment of joy into the life of a patient with breast cancer when a cure is too late.
