The Fishing WIN A SCOTT FLY ROD!! The Lodge and Villas at Ambergris Caye As some of you
know, we have made a lot of improvements to the main lodge recently.
Air-conditioning has been added to all lodge rooms as well as
renovations to lodge bathrooms. We remodeled our restaurant, moving
the Anglers Bar to a bigger separate room on the north side of the
lodge. This has given us room to add a pool table, dartboard, music,
TV/VCR and a guest computer for checking emails or surfing the web.
Punta Gorda Our sister lodge in southern Belize offers the best
of both salt and fresh water, light tackle angling for healthy,
untouched populations of Permit, Tarpon, Bonefish and Snook. In
addition to world-class fishing, our Welcome Robert The newest member of our management team here at El Pescador Ambergris Caye is Robert Eddins. He arrived in early December from Bozeman, Montana. Robert has spent several years in the fly-fishing industry as a guide, fly shop salesman, fly tackle sales representative and sales manager for his family’s drift boat company. He is an accomplished fly-caster and instructor. You can join him on the dock daily for a free casting lesson to help you get the most out of your experience or chase bonefish on the flats in front of the lodge. Robert is here to answer any questions you have with rigging gear for our local fishery. There have been some great fishing and record-breaking
days despite some warm rainy weather. Since the hurricanes of recent
years the flats have been producing an incredible amount of fish. As
always the reef fishing in December and January was epic! Guides are
seeing more fish than they can remember. On November 26, 2002 Scott
Bush from West Chester County, NY landed 54 Bonefish on a fly with
Carlos. This follows the record Tarpon of 187 lbs. landed by Larry
Boyd of Grand Junction, CO with Nesto. Scott Rogers in Punta Gorda
took a record Permit that tipped Scully’s scale at 36 lbs. We are
looking forward to one of our best seasons yet. We will keep you up

Getting to Belize has gotten easier
and less expensive with low introductory fares especially for travel
before March 31, 2003. US Air has initiated a non-stop service from
Charlotte, NC and Continental has added a direct flight from Newark
to go along with non-stop service from Miami, Houston and Dallas. We
even have Air Jamaica/Delta adding flights from the Caribbean and
the US with some really low fares!
