USS New
Jersey Battleship Museum History returns home at the
Battleship New Jersey, the most decorated battleship in U.S.
Navy history, permanently berthed at the southern end of the Camden
Waterfront. The "Big J" is a signature waterfront attraction for
veterans, patriots and families from around the world.

Vistor Center Located across the street from the
Liberty Bell at Sixth and Market streets, the new state-of-the-art
Independence Visitor Center provides travelers with information and
tickets for attractions and events throughout the
region.

The Kimmel
Center for the Performing Arts The new Kimmel Center
for the Performing Arts' 2,500-seat Verizon Hall and 650-seat
Perelman Theater will join the venerable Academy of Music as one of
the nation's leading performing arts centers. Located at Broad and
Spruce streets on Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts, RPAC will be
the home to seven resident companies: The Philadelphia Orchestra,
Opera Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Ballet, Philadelphia
Chamber Music Society, Philadanco, Concerto Soloists Chamber Music
Society, and American Theater Arts for Youth.

Games August 15-19, 2002
Where can you watch skateboarders soar 12 feet above the ground
or bike stunt riders flip in mid-air? Where can you see daredevil,
risk-taking athletes throw their hearts and bodies on the line
in the name of competition? This summer you can see it all in
Philadelphia as the X Games roll, climb and fly through town
summer, 2002. This premier competition for action sports features
fantastic competitions such as aggressive in-line skating, bicycle
stunt riding, skateboarding, freestyle moto x and sportclimbing
which will take place in and around the First Union Center in
South Philadelphia. Wakeboarding events will take place on the
Schuylkill River. All events are free to the public.

Liberty Bell
Center Opening Spring 2003 America's
most cherished symbol of liberty soon will have a new home across
the street from where it originally was rung. The new complex, set
for 6th and Chestnut streets, will include a chamber granting
visitors a view of the Liberty Bell in relation to Independence
Hall, and an interpretive exhibit area. |

Constitution Center Opening July 4,
2003 The first-ever national museum
honoring and explaining the U.S. Constitution will tell the story of
the document that framed the American idea. Located in Independence
National Historical Park, a few blocks from Independence Hall and
the Liberty Bell, the museum will include interactive exhibits and a
theater. |
