One of Philadelphia's premier event locations, Knowlton is a 19th century country estate with a rich history and an exciting future. Built in 1881 by a famous Victorian architect Frank Furness, this fully restored mansion features original antique furnishings, richly colored stained glass windows, oriental rugs, an impressive art collection, ornately-carved mantelpieces and geometric patterned woodwork throughout. The new conservatory addition includes glass skylights, 35-foot vaulted ceilings, a center cupola, and intricate woodwork designed to mirror his original designs. Earning accolades from the American Institute of Architects, the conservatory opens to expansive cocktail terraces, a pergola for wedding ceremonies and thirteen acres of magnificent perennial gardens. |
